Mlle Pogany I by Eve Arnold

Silvana Mangano at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.1956. Eve Arnold, Magnum Photographer. I don’t remember having seen this view of Mlle Pogany I, it is a very elegant one that Brancusi would have liked.

Constantin Brancusi. Mlle Pogany I. Bronze made in 1913 after a marble of 1912. At the MOMA.  Brancusi made two more versions of Mlle Pogany. Compared to the sensitive pictures by Eve Arnold,  these of the MOMA are only plain and descriptive. (probably because they are taken from too high)
